Chapter 148 The Challenge of the Heart of the Secret Realm

Deep within the secret realm, a mysterious area surrounded by ancient runes lay quietly in the darkness. This was the legendary Heart of the Secret Realm. The air around them seemed frozen, and even breathing became extremely heavy. Yun Yi, Arya, and Kevin, each holding their own weapon, stood at the entrance to the Heart of the Secret Realm, their gazes fixed solemnly. Suddenly, a deep roar shattered the silence. A massive guardian beast emerged from the darkness, its eyes like blazing flames, gleaming with a fierce glint. This mysterious creature possessed immense power, its body covered in tough scales, each one seemingly capable of withstanding any attack. The appearance of the guardian beast instilled an unprecedented pressure on Yun Yi and the other two.

"It seems that this is the guardian beast of the heart of the secret realm." Yun Yi gripped the sword tightly, his eyes like torches, his voice low and firm.

Arya nodded and gently waved her staff, releasing circles of soft light, providing faint illumination and protection for her teammates. "Its power is strong. We must handle it with caution."

Kevin drew his longbow, the arrow already on the string. He stared at the guardian beast, his eyes gleaming with calmness and determination. "Are you ready? Let's go!"

At Kevin's command, the three launched their attacks simultaneously. Yun Yi's body moved like lightning, and he swung his sword, a dazzling flash of light, aiming directly at the guardian beast's vitals. However, the guardian beast's reaction was incredibly swift, and it dodged Yun Yi's attack with a single, effortless movement. Simultaneously, it opened its maw and spewed forth a stream of blazing flames, charging directly at the three men.

"Be careful!" Arya warned hurriedly. She quickly released a healing light, which protected Yun Yi and Kevin from some of the flames. But even so, they were still shaken back by the powerful force.

"This guardian beast is truly powerful," Kevin gasped, a serious look flashing in his eyes. "We must change our strategy. We can't just fight head-on."

Yun Yi nodded, knowing full well that a head-on confrontation was unwise. He quickly observed the guardian beast's attack patterns, trying to find its weakness. "Although its movements are swift, there's a brief pause after each attack. We can use this opportunity to launch a counterattack."

Arya's eyes gleamed when she heard this. "Good idea! I'll distract it while you guys attack."

As she spoke, Arya swung her staff, unleashing a series of dazzling magical attacks that captured the guardian beast's attention. The guardian beast, enraged by Arya's magical attacks, roared and charged towards her, ignoring Yun Yi and Kevin behind her.

At that moment, Yun Yi and Kevin launched their attacks simultaneously. Yun Yi swung his sword, a sharp blade piercing the air and striking the guardian beast from behind. Kevin, on the other hand, aimed his arrow, which pierced the guardian beast's scales like lightning and pierced its heart.

"Roar!" The guardian beast let out a shrill roar, its body suddenly paused, and then collapsed with a loud bang. Its huge body hit the ground, stirring up a cloud of dust.

"We did it!" Arya shouted excitedly, her face filled with the joy of victory. Yun Yi and Kevin also smiled at each other, their hearts filled with pride and accomplishment.

However, just when they thought the battle was over, the guardian beast's body suddenly emitted a dazzling light. Within the light, an illusory figure slowly emerged. It was an old man in a robe, his eyes deep and wise.

"Brave travelers, you have successfully defeated the guardian beasts, proving your strength and wisdom." The old man's voice was gentle yet powerful, as if it could penetrate the heart of a person. "But the true test has just begun. The Heart of the Secret Realm hides endless secrets and power. Only those who are truly worthy can gain its recognition."

Upon hearing this, Yun Yi and the other two couldn't help but feel an inexplicable excitement and anticipation. They knew that this would be a more difficult challenge, but they also believed that as long as they united as one, nothing could stop them from moving forward.

"Senior, we are willing to accept any test." Yun Yi bowed respectfully and said with a firm look.

The old man smiled faintly. With a gentle wave of his hand, a beam of light enveloped the three of them. When they opened their eyes again, they found themselves in a strange space.
